Brief description of your activity focus
Teaching and researcher on Political Science-Europe and the Europeanization of the European Union

Details about Expertise / Competences / Technologies
. The skills covered by my qualifications are very diversified and encompassing. My main qualification
awarded was a PhD thesis in Political Science/European Studies by the University of Leeds- My thesis
title was ´´.My thesis deals with the dynamics of elite integration at institutional /European level. The
following points were discussed: the emergence of European elite; how Eurogroups in the European
Parliament may develop; their influence in the process of integration; the relationship between the
national party elite and Europe; the increasing powers of the European Parliament; and the relationship
between the national parties and Europe.
The master in Modern International Studies- (Institute for International Studies-Leeds), covered the
following issues: The Evolution of the International Political System since 1945; the International
System; The Foreign Policies of the Great Powers; Statecraft after the Cold War; Politics and Policies of
the European Union
Summarizing my main research interests are:
Political parties; European institutions; European policies; The International Political System; The world
after the cold war; Politics and Policies of the European Union; Federalism; State building; Community
building; The impact of new technologies in the process of integration; integration theory; Africa and
Europe; elite integration versus citizens integration; the idea of Europe after the new financial crises; A
New world for Europe and a New Europe for the World; New dimensions for the process of integration;
The political scope of the European Union; Patterns of Federalism in a new Europe.
I am used to international, multicultural contexts- (United Kingdom, Brussels, Luxembourg, etc.). I am
used to be among people with different cultural background, thus being very easy to communicate and
to interchange ideas in a multicultural context. I do appreciate the differences and the way people
interact. Group work skills, interpersonnal capabibilities, awareness of group behaviour are aspects
that keep my attention and I believe are fundamental to develop projects.
I worked and lived in the United Kingdom for seven years. Consequently, it is very easy for me to deal
with people from different backgrounds. My multidisciplinary profile claims for a continuously and
challenging appeal for change.
