Brief description of your activity focus
My research focuses on social innovation, the empowerment of citizens and collaboration in service delivery.

Details about Expertise / Competences / Technologies
Taco Brandsen’s research focuses on public services (esp. in housing, education and health care) and the
current issues facing policymakers and managers in this area. How can social innovation be encouraged?
What happens when organisations in the public services operate at the intersection of state, market and
civil society? How can citizens participate meaningfully in the production of these services?

In teaching, Taco Brandsen has encouraged internationalization of public administration programmes,
esp. through the development of transnational programmes. Internationalization is not simply a choice
of language, but an opportunity to reconsider the content and structure of the traditional curriculum.

In addition to his work at Radboud University, Taco Brandsen is a board member of major international
research networks in public administration and management (EGPA, IRSPM)
