Details about Expertise / Competences / Technologies
I am professor in Pedagogic Practices with an interest in how norms about sexuality, gender, class and ethnicity are articulated and disrupted, and to what effects, in educational settings and discourses. Common traits in my research are discursive methods and perspectives, and an interest in how people communicate and construct notions about norms, identity and society.
In Educational Science I have studied the heterosexual norm in schools and teacher education. My present research concerns class in the neoliberal educational discourse and how class and gender have played a role in education of childminders and preschool-teachers. Another research interest is Death Studies, which in my case consists of communicative perspectives on death, loss, bereavement and grief. Within this field of research I have studied official Swedish media representations of media events of disaster and death.
