 Details about Expertise / Competences / Technologies
Społeczna Akademia Nauk (University of Social Sciences) – Top-ranking private University (3rd in Poland) is one of
the leading private universities in Poland having 15.000 students and over 500 academic staff. There are 18
departments, including Language Studies, Culture Studies, Management, Pedagogy, Psychology, Sociology, and IT
studies. Some of the specializations at Management and Pedagogics faculties are Psychology of Management and
Vocational Counselling, Human Resource Strategies, etc. We run also post-graduate studies on vocational
counseling. Within our University, there is a Center for Self-Development (vocational counseling aimed at
favored groups of the society) and Academic Career Office playing the role of vocational and career guidance.
SAN University cooperates with vocational schools of the region, Centrum Doskonalenia Nauczycieli i Kształcenia
Praktycznego (Centre of Excellence for Teacher Training and Practical Training), with the local city council,
authorities of Lodz Province, provincial and administrative units state public employment agencies and the
Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and with the National Employment Agency.
Almost all of our 18 departments have been involved in EU projects, that’s why the target group of our
organization is very broad.
The key target groups that have been at our focus in recent years are:
- People with the migrational background (both from the perspective of adults, schools, and children)
- Persons aged 50+
- Teachers, trainers, vocational advisors
- Entrepreneurs (including social entrepreneurs)
- The unemployed and other defavourised groups
- Handicapped people (mentally and physically)
Main areas of interest:
- Multilingualism, multicultural aspects
- Employment and entrepreneurship
- Age management
- Sustainable development
- Innovative education (eg. gaming, commixes in education, robotics, etc.)
- Improvement of teaching & learning skills (improving support for teachers, school leaders, and teacher
educators)
- Inclusive education
- Parents’ skills (eg. emotional intelligence, vocational guidance towards their children, etc.)
- Coaching, career learning
- Improvement of Key Competencies.

We have key expertise in developing and implementing successful EU projects as well as in elaborating high-
quality materials (training, curricula, analysis, compendia, etc)
As an educational organization, our SAN promotes a multidisciplinary approach, bringing together researchers
from a diversity of backgrounds (economics, humanities, engineering, etc.). Due to 18 diversified departments,
our University has the potential to provide support (according to specific roles and tasks assigned within the
consortium) to project’s activities having immense expertise and experienced staff in the respective field.
Since 2004 we have been involved in 125 international projects as a partner as well as an applicant/coordinator.
