I have PhD degree in Sociology from Free University of Brussels (ULB) (2006). My doctoral research was
focused on transformations of the profession of the architects in the context of two types of political
regimes in Bulgaria - socialism and post-socialism. The results of my doctoral research were published
in various articles and journals but also in the book published in French: Slavova, P. 2009, Les
libérales pendant le socialisme : le cas des architectes en Bulgarie, Sofia university press St. Kliment
Ohridski, Sofia, ISBN: 978-957-07-2953-4. Main part of my research expertise is in the field of sociology
Thanks of this tree years project, that I am project leader I developed my sociological expertise in the
field of sociology of work, of sociology of higher education and in the field of sociology of labor
Finally, during tree academic years (2006-2009) I was in charge with seminars on Economic sociology
and I have an expertise also in this field. With the support of research committee “Economy and
(International Sociological Association), I co-organize the international conference of Economic
sociology “Markets as Networks”.
As co-editor I co-published in English 16 selected contributions which were presented during the
conference: Chavdarova, T., Slavova, P., Stoeva, S. (eds.), 2010, Markets as Networks, Sofia
university press St. Kliment Ohridski, Sofia.
International and national projects beyond EU Framework Programme
Since two years I am working on the collaborative research project concerning the professional
trajectories of graduated in sociology in Bulgaria. Part of the results of this project is still published in
the book in Bulgarian: Slavova, P. 2010, Professional trajectories of graduated in sociology from Sofia
