Brief explanation about listed projects:
1) REGROUND. The basic concept of REGROUND technology is the creation of an adsorptive in situ barrier for the
immobilization of toxic metal contaminations. This barrier is made of iron oxide nanoparticles, which are injected into
sediments as colloidal suspension, forming stable deposits there.
2) PROGRESS-TT. PROGRESS-TT will transfer the expertise of Europe’s leading PROs to those with the greatest
potential to grow. It will gather best practices from leading PROs and thought leaders and formulate it into Europe’s
most definitive TT tools, methods and insights. It will then begin a programme of knowledge transfer tailored to the
audience’s level of ‘readiness’ to grow.
3) LUMENTILE. LUMENTILE originates from an idea of disruptive innovation, where the joint use of new technologies
creates added value and new functionalities for traditional materials, thus turning the classical ceramic tile into a
“multifunctional electronic luminous tile” realized by large area and organic electronics. LUMENTILE can be also
considered as design-driven innovation, where we give a different meaning to the use of light driven by the design, by
empowering it to be used as a radical different designed element for architecture, as a skin integrated element for
interior design, lighting or advertising purposes.
4) THERMACO. Smart Thermal conductive AI MMCs by casting is an FP7 Project with the focus on the expanding
demand for heat evacuation applications in fields such as power microelectronics, e-mobility or (renewable) energy
generation, which is motivating todays suppliers to come up with increasingly improved heat conductive materials.
THERMACO started in September 2013 and aims to develop specialized improved heat conductive materials based on
Aluminium metal matrix composites improved with carbon-based thermal reinforcements.
5) REWAGEN. The aim is the development of a prototype of a water treatment system based on the sequential
combination of three technologies: electro-coagulation, electro oxidation and a technology, for energy saving and the
reutilisation of the resulting regenerated water for different applications: more efficient in terms of wastewater
treatment and self-sustaining in terms of energy needs.
