I study immigrant religious communities and people and the processes of social incorporation and adoption

 Details about Expertise / Competences / Technologies
Resaerch focus is on immigration, religion and processes of social incorporation; on diaspora
studies and change and continuities of religion and culture; second generation of immigrants; public
visibility and social conflicts;
I was granted several grants for research projects (with two PhD candidates each) on Hindus and
Buddhists in Switzerland; on Muslims and Jews in Great Britain and Switzerland; on Muslim communities
and Hindu comunities in conurbations in Austria and Switzerland, and finally, a highly visible research
project on Muslim youth groups and civic social capital in Switzerland (with three postdoic positions).
