 Details about Expertise / Competences / Technologies
The Institute is organized as a unit composed of 4 scientific research centers that function as subsidiary units within the Institute. These centers are: the Center for Educational Research and Development (CERD) http://www.idi.hr/cerd/index.php/en, the Centre for Research in Social Inequalities and Sustainability (CRiSIS), the Center for Youth and Gender Studies and the Science Research and Urban/Rural Studies Center.

There are 42 employees at the Institute among which 30 are researchers.

Fields of research
The Institutes main research areas are: social structures, urban/rural settlements, youth, education, science, religion, sustainable development, gender differentiation and cultural studies.

The Institute organizes undergraduate and postgraduate studies in association with Croatian Universities.

One of the Institutes activities is to host and organize scientific conferences and professional meetings, roundtables, seminars and workshops, in order to bring scientific findings closer to the general public and to actively contribute to public policies in respective areas of research.
