 Details about Expertise / Competences / Technologies The SYNYO GmbH is an independent company based in Vienna and aims at transforming strong ideas and
research into innovative services and applications. SYNYO follows a research-oriented approach, holds in-
depth expertise in social research and technology, and merges these areas successfully. Currently SYNYO is
engaged in various research projects on national and international level. The SYNYO staff consists of
highly motivated academics specialised in various disciplines and fields, including social media,
technological sociology, social research methods, emerging technologies, software and web engineering,
system design, software architecture, network technology, interface design, usability engineering, the
mass media, conflict communication, integration, and security. SYNYO unites conceptual, analytical and
technological strengths and therefore can serve its clients and contribute to the production of knowledge

 International and national projects beyond EU Framework Programme SYNYO is actively involved in twelve ongoing collaborative projects, acting as overall coordinator in four H2020 projects
(TAKEDOWN, PeaceTraining.eu, FutureTDM, SciChallenge) and as project partner in 4 H2020 projects (CityRisks,
PROTECTIVE, Bonseyes, eCraft2Learn). In addition, SYNYO started two AAL projects ActiveAdvice and FollowMe, and soon
will finish iCareCoops and the Urban Europe (Joint Programming Initiative) project UrbanData2Decide.
