Migration and development: challenges for public policy making
H2020 Call Topic
FGV Department of Public Policy Analysis (DAPP) is an applied research centre on innovation and public policy.
Among our key research topics, we have been dedicated to study the effects of international migration flows in
Brazil, exploring the dimensions of labor market, demography and social perception. This issue became an
important topic in the political agenda in Brazil mainly due to the recent flows of Haitians and Venezuelans.
In accordance with our purpose to foster development in Brazil, we are looking to expand our international
comparative research on migration issues by offering our background and local network.
FGV DAPPs research expertise and activities may be summarized as follows:
> Research interest on international migration: challenges for public policy making and development in Brazil;
> Since March 2017 leading a research network including University of Brasília - International Migration
Observatory (UnB - OBMigra), Federal University of Roraima (UFRR), Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), Federal
University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Brazilian National Immigration Council (CNIg) and United Nations High-
Comissioner on Refugees - Brazilian Office (UNHCR);
> Our contributions (reports, data and web platforms) are available at the official project website:
We search for a project leader to coordinate the proposal submission in a consortium that must include at least
three participants from three different EU Member States or Associated countries.
The Brazilian work package leader will be FGV DAPP, as coordinator of its current network of researchers on
migration issues as stated above.
